Madi Kaye and Grammy Kaye....

I had a hard time deciding if I should post any of this. But I know that one day I will be grateful that I did.
My Madi had a surgery on the 9th of December 2009 that we had been aware was coming for a while. She had an extended bowel that the Dr.s had hoped would go down on it's own. It was not so they made the decision to go in and take that part of the bowel out. My Mom and Dad were GREAT they came to our house to stay with the other kids while Travis and I were with Madi. I remember coming home to my parents and my Mom saying that she did not feel very good. Which she had been saying for a couple of weeks. She said she was planning on going to the Dr. after Madi's procedure ( she wanted to be able to help us). The next day my Mom and Dad went to the hospital to spend the day with Madi while Travis went to work and I was home with my other girls. I remember my Mom not looking like she was feeling well when I came to the hospital that evening. She said she was tired and wanted to go home. Although all day she played with and entertained Madi. What a GRAMMY! This was on a Thursday and Madi came home on Sunday and went back to the hospital due to a possible infection on Monday. That Monday my Mom went to the Dr. and called me that night to tell me she was diagnosed with Cancer and high blood pressure. The Dr. said she was lucky she had not had a heart attack or a stroke with how high her blood pressure was. So she took some blood pressure meds and laid down on the table in the Dr.s office. My Mom went home that evening and told EVERYONE she was going to do ALL she could to beat this. She is ALWAYS very positive about this!! I love this Lady!! My Mom found out that she had cancer the same day that Madi was put back in the hospital so Travis and Madi were gone when I got the phone call. That was HARD!
My Madi was able to come home with a picc line in on Friday. She kept it for about a week and a half. She is such a trooper!! Brave and tough little girl! Travis said that when they were getting ready to do the picc line she said " I know it is going to hurt but I will be okay." Break my heart!
My Mom was admitted to the hospital a little over a week after I think. She was having a hard time breathing which was going on for a while. She said she would sleep on her left side so she could get out of bed quickly when she could not breathe. BREAK MY HEART (again)! I had no idea until she was put in the hospital.
My Mom has uterine Cancer that spread to her lungs and back stage 4. My Mom ended up having to have surgery on her lungs because she had alot of fluid build up around them as a kind of protection from the cancer. She was in the hospital for it seemed like forever. She was there on Christmas. My Dad would NOT let me stay over night even. He would only leave for a shower or to get her meds she needed. He did not want to go and be in their house without her. I thought that was very SWEET!
My Mom came home on oxygen and had a catheder. My Mom decided to do Chemo Therapy. Which she took her time and many thoughts and prayers to get to that decision. She is now more than half way through the chemo but it is really wearing on her poor little body. My Mom did have the oxygen taken off and the cath taken out. Which made her feel so much better.
My Mom was put back in the hospital on the 14th of April 2010. My Dad had taken her for a check up and pushed them to really look at her which good thing he did because she has blood clots in her legs and lungs. My Dad says that she has no energy and just wants to sleep all the time. She does not really want to talk on the phone and this is very hard due to the fact that I am sick. So I can't go and see her. This is hard, my Mom and I are really close. And I can't go give her the rubs or the hugs I want too. I really LOVE my mom and want nothing more than for her to be healthy and happy! She is so strong and brave! And I hope I can only be half as great as she is. My Mom is the best!!
This has affected all of our lives and I only write this so we will remember these things that are life changing. My Madi and my Mom are two LOVES of my life, and will FOREVER be!! I had a hard time deciding if I should post any of this. But I know that one day I will be grateful that I did.

Halloween.......

This was a GREAT Halloween! Madi had a parade and party in her first grade class and Emily had a parade and party in her preschool class. It was so fun to watch them be so excited about Halloween. My Madi originally wanted to be a Mummy but when I showed her the costume she immediatly changed her mind. :D She then decided to be a Karate girl. My Emily ALWAYS wants to be some type of princess or bride, so she chose to be Belle this year and I think part of the reason she chose it was because we did not have that costume so she would have to have a NEW one. I remember last year she wanted to be Cindrella and I said oh good we already have that dress and right there she changed her mind and decided she wanted to be Snow White. That girl is JUST like me. UH OH!! Little Avery went back and fourth a few times between what she wanted to be at first she wanted to be Cinderella and then she wanted to be a pumpkin and then Sleeping Beauty. Which were all MORE then fine with me because we have ALL of those costumes in her size. :D NICE!! She ended up deciding on Cinderella which suited her perfectly. And my sweet Layla was a precious flower.
They were all so cute this year, I loved seeing them and their cute little friends at the trunk or treat. This year the Bishop told Travis and others that it would be so great if the adults would dress up and decorate their trunks for the trunk or treat. So that is what we did. I forgot to take a picture of the trunk but we had a black spider web with a HUGE spider on it with a strobe light which we were not able to use because it was not dark during the trunk or treat. :( But it was still so cute!! Travis dressed up as a rocker from the 80's and I just wore a mask. The girls got way more then enough candy and had ALOT of fun! Although my Cinderella did lose her shoes at the trunk or treat due to them hurting her feet. :) I love my family and I am very greatful to be a part of it! Thanks Grammy and Gramps for taking the cute pictures of our Family.

Seven and missing a tooth.......

Madi lost her first tooth on September 19th. I know this post should have been done a long time ago, so I am sorry to my Madi. Madi is such a sweetheart. Her tooth was a little loose and whenever she asked me to wiggle it she never wanted me to wiggle very hard and she would not wiggle it very hard either. She has read some Junny B Jones books and one of them talks about her loosing a tooth. In this story she says how she does not want to loose a tooth because she will not look pretty. I will get back to this in a minute. I need to tell the funny story of how this all came about. Travis came home that morning telling me about our neighbors dog who grabbed another dog by the butt and tossed him. The girls love these people and dogs so they were very interested in the story and wanted to hear it over and over. At that time I left for a while and then I got a call from my sweet Madi who told me she was playing with Emily like they were the dogs which I could barely understand her due to the paper towel she had in her mouth. So they were playing like they were the dogs and Madi being the big dog bit Emily on the butt pocket which had a button on it and out popped the tooth. She looked up at Travis who heard it pop out and he asked her if she was ok and then said Madi you lost your tooth. She got scared seeing the blood and the sound of it popping out. And then while crying she said " I am not going to look pretty." Travis reassured her that she is very pretty no matter what. Then she made the call to her Mommy that was not here to be a part of my first kids first tooth coming out. I was so bummed that I was not here. She was very excited when I talked to her on the phone. She looks so stinkin cute!! Time goes by way to fast!!! Love You!!
